Mapping also allows you to choose if you would like them to be copied 1:1 without any changes (Use), or adjust them using a variety of other options. Please note that usually some modifications are necessary.
You can use mapping to prepare your Master Fields. It lets you use these rules later in every channel in the same way.
Mapping is also used for channel mapping (Map Fields) to assign values to fields required by individual channels.
